The Monza circuit is one of the most important motor racing circuits in the world. Major features of the main track include the Curva di Lesmo, the Curva Parabolica, and the Variante Ascari. The first track was built from May to July 1922. There was major rebuilding in 1938–39 and in 1955 work began to entirely revamp the circuit, resulting in a 5.750 meters course.
With technology still improving vehicle speeds, the track was again changed in 1979. It has a capacity of 113,000 spectators, including 45,000 seats.
