Second day of qualifying for Pedercini team riders at the Nurburgring. Sunny weather today on the German circuit. In Superbike morning qualifying session Roger Lee Hayden (1’58”199) reached the twentieth place entering the Superpole. Unfortunately teammate Matteo Baiocco was not able to adapt his Kawasaki to the technical and difficult German track. The Italian rider improved his best lap time (1’59”875) but he obtained only the twenty second position, missing the Superpole. In Superpole Hayden improved once again his best lap time (1’57”613) reaching the eighteenth position. Tomorrow he will start from the fifth row while Baiocco from the sixth.

Matteo Baiocco :”Today my feeling with the bike was better than yesterday also because my team worked a lot on the front suspension. I’m still struggling with some lack of grip on the rear and it’s difficult for me to exit from the curves with the right speed. This afternoon we decide which tyres we’ll use in tomorrow’s races. I know tomorrow’s races will be very difficult for me, starting from the sixth row, but I’ll try my best to obtain the best possible result”.

Roger Lee Hayden :”Today the setting is getting better than yesterday but I’m still losing some tenths in the first split. This afternoon I tried my best to get on the second session of the Superpole but I lost time during my best lap because I was pushing a little bit too much. I’m happy with the bike’s set-up but we still have some more work to do in warm-up tomorrow to make it even better and I will try my best for some good results in the races.”

In Superstock 1000 FIM Cup morning free session, team Pedercini riders Chris Leeson and Danilo Petrucci took twenty fourth (2’07”184) and fifteenth (2’02”617) places respectively. In the afternoon qualifying session, Petrucci (2’01”655) improved his best lap time confirming his fifteenth place. Danilo Petrucci : “This morning with a low asphalt temperature I found more grip than yesterday, but unfortunately this afternoon with an hot temperature I struggled with the same problem I suffered yesterday. I’m losing a lot of time going out of the curve. This afternoon I tried my best to improve my lap time and reach a good starting position, but it was impossible for me find the right feeling with my rear tyre. Tomorrow I’ll start from the fourth row and I hope to finish the race in one of the first ten positions”.

Chris Leeson : “My position is not that good, but I’m pretty happy because I was able to improve a lot my best lap time and I’m sure I can improve more tomorrow. The feeling with the machine is good, but the lap times are not quite there yet. We still have some more work to do for tomorrow's warm up, hopefully we can get a couple of things sorted out. I’ll try my best in tomorrow’s race to enter the point zone".
