Silverstone Qualifying 2, July 31 2010, Wet conditions for this morning’s Superbike qualifying session in Silverstone, U.K. Because of the wet track, both Pedercini team’s riders couldn’t improve their yesterday’s best lap time and for this reason they missed the Superpole.

July 31 2010 - Silverstone Qualifying 2
Wet conditions for this morning’s Superbike qualifying session in Silverstone, U.K. Because of the wet track, both Pedercini team’s riders couldn’t improve their yesterday’s best lap time and for this reason they missed the Superpole. Hayden placed twenty-first (2’07”677) and Baiocco finished twenty-third (2’10”431). In the afternoon free practice on a dry track Hayden confirmed his twenty-first position (2’08”466) while Baiocco was able to improve his best lap time (2’10”067) ending in twenty-fifth place. Sixth row for both Kawasaki’s riders in tomorrow’s 18-laps races.

Matteo Baiocco :"This morning the wet track conditions did not allow us to work properly on my bike. I was not able to improve my best lap time and so I missed the Superpole. This afternoon the track was completely dry and I worked hard with my team to improve my bike performances. We knew we had a couple of issues to sort out which took some time. We were also struggling for grip to start with but we made some changes which worked. I’m confident for tomorrow’s races also because we’ll try some new solution during tomorrow morning warm up".
Roger Lee Hayden :"Due to the wet track conditions, this morning I lost a good opportunity to work with my technical staff to solve a few of our set up problems. Fortunately this afternoon we're heading in the right direction. We've still got some work to do on the rear so I can take some of the corners like I want to, but I’m pretty happy for the improvements we have done in these two days and I want to thanks the guys in the team who have done a great job".
Wet track today in Silverstone for Superstock 1000 free morning practice. Petrucci was very fast on the wet track and he reached the seventh place (2’32”304) while Leeson preferred not to enter the track due to the bad track conditions. During afternoon qualifying session good performance for Danilo Petrucci who obtained the seventh position (2’11”716) and the second row. Leeson improved his yesterday best lap time ((2’14”080) and he finished in twentieth position. Sixth row for him in tomorrow 10-laps race.

Danilo Petrucci :"This morning on a wet track I was really very fast, and so, for tomorrow in case of a wet race we’ll be ready. This afternoon I improved my best lap time by over half a second reaching the seventh place and the second row of the starting grid. We can’t predict what the weather will be like tomorrow but we’ve tried both the weather conditions and I’m happy with both of them so we’re feeling confident that we’ll be competitive regardless of the conditions. I’m not on the front row, but tomorrow I plan to start strong and try to stay at the front."
Chris Leeson: "I’m pretty happy because today I improved my best lap time for more than one second. I enjoy this new circuit and thinking about tomorrow I’m sure the race will be fun. I know the race will be very difficult, starting from sixth row, but I’m still positive and I’ll try my best to reach a good result."
