Silverstone Qualifying 1, July 30 2010, First day of qualifying for Pedercini team’s Superbike riders on the Silverstone circuit in the United Kingdom. Roger Lee Hayden and Matteo Baiocco spent their free practice session on a dry track, working through various machine settings, starting to learn this new and technical circuit.

July 30 2010 - Silverstone Qualifying 1
 First day of qualifying for Pedercini team’s Superbike riders on the Silverstone circuit in the United Kingdom. Roger Lee Hayden and Matteo Baiocco spent their free practice session on a dry track, working through various machine settings, starting to learn this new and technical circuit. Hayden reached the twenty-second position (2’10”755) while Baiocco obtained the twenty-fourth place (2’12”725). Dry weather conditions also for first Superbike qualifications, despite some dark clouds that obscured the track. Hayden improved a lot his best lap time (2’07”677) reaching the twentieth position. Baiocco was also able to improve his lap time (2’10”431) but unfortunately he’s still struggling with some set up problems. The Italian rider ended in twenty-third position only.

Matteo Baiocco :"I spent my first day of action working through various machine settings but we still have to find a better one. Mainly we have to sort out a good set-up because we have some problems to solve. We will try some more settings tomorrow in order to solve today’s rear traction problems. The circuit is quite nice and I like it even if I’m still learning it. Tomorrow I must improve a lot my lap time if I want to enter the Superpole that’s my target".
Roger Lee Hayden :"I’m pretty satisfied because this afternoon we started to work in the right direction and I was able to record some fast laps. In the qualifying session we made a lot of improvements and I have a good feeling with my bike on this circuit that’s new for me but also for all the other riders. My race weekend in Laguna Seca was really a good practice for me and tomorrow I want to continue to work with my team and I hope to enter the Superpole".
Dry track for Superstock 1000 FIM Cup free practice and qualifying sessions. During the free practice Danilo Petrucci and Chris Leeson started to work to adapt their bike set up to the “new look” English circuit. Petrucci (2’14”413) was eighth and teammate Leeson (2’17”384) ended in twenty-first position. In afternoon first qualifying session excellent performance for Danilo Petrucci (2’12”211) who reached the sixth position and the provisional second row. Chris Leeson improved his best lap time (2’15”029) confirming his morning twenty-first position.

Danilo Petrucci : "I’m happy with today’s results. I had very soon a good feeling with my bike also if I spent some time to learn this new long circuit. I’m very satisfied with the way tests are proceeding here in Silverstone and I’m looking forward to continuing also tomorrow. Tomorrow I would like confirm the second row of the starting grid, but I’ll do my best to reach the first one".
Chris Leeson :"I spent the full morning free practice to learn this new track that’s really very long. This afternoon I started to improve my performances and my laps time. I was faster every time Ientered the circuit and so I’m sure I’ll improve more tomorrow. The bike is working well but tomorrow I’ll work with my technical staff to improve my bike set up because I want to reduce the gap with my team mate".
