First day of qualifying for Pedercini team riders Matteo Baiocco and Roger Lee Hayden in the eighth round of the world Superbike championship at the Misano World Circuit. The conditions at Misano today were problematic for all riders, because of the hot temperature and the high grade of humidity. Matteo Baiocco is eager to prove himself and to reach the first points on the board this weekend, for his team and sponsors. In morning free practice he obtained the twenty first place (1’40”477) and in afternoon qualifying practice he reached the same position improving his best lap time (1’38”892). Team-mate Roger Hayden continued to improve his set-up from previous races. The American rider was confident of more improvements for day two.

Roger Lee Hayden :" My first day here in Misano was not so bad. I spent the morning to learn this new track and to try some different settings. I think today we've made big improvements. This morning we lost a bit of track time with a couple of things but this afternoon we went pretty well. In the afternoon I was able to improve my best lap time and this was a good results considering it's my first time here. We can still make improvements over the weekend and hopefully we'll make it work. Tomorrow I’ll continue to work to enter the Superpole."

Matteo Baiocco :”I’m pretty happy because my qualifying session was better than my morning free practice. I pushed very hard this afternoon and I increased my best lap time. I think we’ve still got a bit of work to do to find the best bike balance here but it’s definitely been a positive test this afternoon. We have to check suspension settings one more time tonight to let us move on tomorrow. It was a difficult day because of the heat and also because the track is slippery, but I am looking forward to ending this weekend in the most positive fashion”.

Fifth round of the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup for Danilo Petrucci and Chris Leeson on the Misano World Circuit. During morning free practice, on a slippery track, Petrucci reached the tenth position (1’43”286) searching for the optimum setting for his Kawasaki for the Misano circuit. Leeson obtained only the twenty ninth place (1’49”082) mainly because this was his first time on the Italian track. Better track condition in afternoon first qualifying session. Danilo Petrucci :" I’m not completely satisfied for my today tenth position but I’m not so far from to the fastest riders and during my last laps I found a lot of traffic and that’s why I was not able to obtained a better position on the provisional starting grid. We still have some setting problem to solve and tomorrow I’ll try to improve my performance and my lap time".

Chris Leeson :”I am pretty happy for what we have done today. With my team we worked intensively to find the best solution possible. I would say that we have done a good job but we still have some problem to solve in the set up of the bike and I must adapt my riding style to this new circuit. I’m not satisfied with my twenty second place and tomorrow we will need to make a good qualifying session to be able to obtain a good position on the grid”.
