Brno, Czech Republic - WSBK and STK 1000 Races, July 26 2009, Today was a day of highs and lows in Brno for the Pedercini Team riders in the tenth round of the Superbike World Championship. In race one both Scassa and Salom obtained a good final position, very close to the points zone.

July 26 2009 - Brno, Czech Republic - WSBK and STK 1000 Races
Today was a day of highs and lows in Brno for the Pedercini Team riders in the tenth round of the Superbike World Championship. In race one both Scassa and Salom obtained a good final position, very close to the points zone.
Luca Scassa was sixteenth while David Salom obtained the seventeenth place. Unfortunately they were not able to repeat the same good results in race two. Scassa crashed while he was fighting with Iannuzzo and Nieto for the sixteenth place while Salom re-enter the box when his bike forcing him to retire from the race due to some technical problems.

Luca Scassa :"In the first race my bike was working really very well due to the good job we have done during Friday and Saturday test. Only during the last laps the rear tire started to slide and it was impossible for me overtake Iannuzzo for fifteeenth place, but I'm pretty happy for my first race result. In race two we decied to change something on my bike's set up but unfortunately it don't work in the right way and it was really impossible for me find a good feeling with my Kawasaki. I had a bit of a battle with Iannuzzo and Nieto but riding over the limit meant I made a mistakes and I crashed ending my race on the gravel. My bike is improving constantly and I want to thank my team who have done a great job as
always".
David Salom :"I'm pretty happy about today's first race and with my final position. I had a hard time at the start because of my qualifying position but I found very soon a good pace and I was able to overtake David Checa and to reach the seventeenth place. The second race was more difficult for me compared to the
first one. My start was not so good and I lost some positions in the first curves. Starting from the fourth lap I felt some vibrations coming from my rear wheel. I couldn't really chase the riders in front of me and the only thing I could do was to re-enter the boxes and to end my race. It was really disappointing to be out of the race for a technical problem which prevented me from getting some points for my
championship standing. I hope to be more lucky in the next race in Germany".
Mixed fortunes for Team Pedercini riders Fores and Ortega in Brno sixth round of the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup. After his strong performances in yesterday qualifying session, Javier Fores was imperious in today's Superstock race reaching an excellent second position. The Spanish rider started from the first
row and with a quick start and a very fast race pace he was able to remain in the first group of riders and he secured a fine second place. Not a lucky race for team mate Ismael Ortega. Yesterday Ortega suffered a poor qualifying session due to a lot of problems at his Kawasaki and today he was forced to
stop his race because of the same technical problems.

Ismael Ortega : "I made a good start and I ended the first lap in eighteenth place. I found very soon a good race pace but unfortunately, starting from the middle of the race, I started to feel the same problem I have suffered during Misano race. I felt a lot of vibrations coming from my bike's engine and I did
not succeed to ride my bike as I would have had. I preferred to re-enter the box because he remembered that in Misano I have crashed for the same problem and so it was dangerous to ride my bike. I hope my technicians will work to solve this problem to be ready for next race in Nurburgring".
Javier Fores :"I'm very happy for my today result. It was a fantastic weekend and I'm really happy to be able to dedicate to my team my best result of the year. After a very good start I reached the second place but starting from the middle of the race I have begun to having problems at my rear tyre and I was no more able to follow Simeon and Berger. Fortunately my pace was still fast and I kept the third position. In the final lap I saw Berger in the gravel and so I obtained the second place that's very important also for the championship standing".
